Almost perfect Sunday morning .'Star Trek - the Original Series Remastered' is on the box, the coffee is smoking hot, the muffin with scrambled eggs and bacon is faultless, and I am typing this on a working computer - finally. Not even a fart of a news in a grand scheme of things, goes without saying, but to a self-confessed half-cyborg such as yours truly, being unplugged since August and in a virtual creative exile was torture, not just for myself, but also for absolutely anyone else who had rotten luck of being within the 10 metre radius of me, and not a chewed-up e-ciggie for comfort in sight.
For the past few days I've been getting used to my new partner in 3D crime, and the phrase that has 'old dogs' and 'new tricks' with 'can't teach' all in one sentence comes to mind. If there's anything harder than learning 'new tricks', than it is un-learning the old stuff, work-arounds and cheats that are no longer required or applicable. And there's one hell of a lot of un-learning lined up my way.
So while my new electronic playmate and I get to know each other better and get nice and cozy, I'm back in the beginner mode starting from scratch, and general arsing around with tests and 'Yep, I don't have a clue - lets see what this does...' type of thing.
Not being able to fiddle with my 3D doodles doesn't mean , however, I had no other ways of inflicting the untold atrocities on the world of fine art and good taste - I was still left with my idiotic semi-useless mobile cam, at large and without any supervision by a responsible adult which I used to the maximum damage effect during that trip back to my roots.
I like this guy, and I like his story. He is so me I should really make him my ID.

More than just a new lick of paint awaiting
'AiRen-SC' started on a spur of the moment 7 years ago as a bit of a fun, temporary place to share a doodle or two by a grumpy, aging Sixties' left-over, who couldn't draw a stick man if it were a matter of life and death and who'd just discovered this new fancy-schmancy thing called 3D to piddle about with.
Y'know how it is with the old pair of slippers - they no longer fit, you can't imagine what possible reason at the time you might had to go for that particluar shade of neon tartan blue velour, for the last few years the only usage they got has been to serve as the family dog's slobber patch under the sofa, and yet when your kids ask

I'm off to get a smoke and a drink, and do not plan to stop until the day I finally peg it. Orban, Kaczinski, Brexit, now Trump, Hofer, Le Pen & Wilders next year... no point staying sober anymore.
We're all pretty much fucked now.
"The lamps are going out all over the world, we shall not see them lit again in our life-time"

Good luck with the new hardware. "Let's see what this does" is my favourite creative mode
