Russet Gold by AiRen-SC Russet Gold by AiRen-SC
As a part of working off my bad karma, this picture is one of the few chores I got roped in to do for the friends' kids who requested this after watching [link]. Its twin will be uploaded in a couple of days. I used the lovely Medusa by Faveral (I'm not at home working with boats, cars and such - if it doesn't have fur or skin it makes me nervous, so all the flaws and foibles here can be put down to venturing for the first time into a completely new area for me). Maps modified/replaced and a few bits modified to work better with my lighting.
The final image is far from flawless - as usual there are always things I can only see after it's up 'n' live and there's no time to fix it. The kids liked it though, so I guess it means mission accomplished. Its 'redux' version can be found here [link]

Eked out in fits and convulsions on a bog-standard, bare-bones DS3A, no fancy plugins, no swish external render-engines, and cursed, sworn-at and beaten out of my crippled antique of a desktop.

Really great model of the ship. I think the horizon is not marked enough though

:-)Yup, I know. It was kind of intentional (for some reason it felt like a good idea at the time:shrug:- on reflection I should have left blurring for some other, more appropriate occasion )
